Our Solutions
Four focus areas. One practical approach.
Every solution EPE delivers starts from a clear assessment of what your farm actually needs — not from a product catalogue. Here is where we work.

Solution 01
Practical Green Energy
Reliable on-farm energy generation through solar PV, small wind, and battery storage — designed for agricultural scale and built for New Zealand conditions.
Reliance on grid electricity represents a significant and growing cost for most farm operations. On-farm generation — solar PV, small-scale wind, and battery storage — offers a practical route to lower operating costs and greater energy independence.
EPE designs systems appropriate to the actual energy profile of your farm: the loads you carry, the seasons when demand peaks, the infrastructure you already have, and the capital budget available. We do not oversell. We recommend what will genuinely perform.
Installations are managed with qualified electricians and renewable energy contractors. Systems are designed for longevity and minimal maintenance — built to work for ten years or more without becoming obsolete or requiring specialist intervention to operate.
This service includes
- Solar PV system design and installation (sheds, shelters, ground-mount)
- Small wind assessment and turbine specification
- Battery storage and hybrid inverter systems
- Integration with existing diesel generation or grid connection
- Performance monitoring with real-time data access
- Ongoing system health checks and maintenance scheduling

Solution 02
Water Management
Practical water infrastructure — from harvesting and storage through to irrigation efficiency and quality monitoring — designed for productive farm operations in New Zealand.
Water is one of the most critical inputs in any farming operation, and also one where there is often significant room to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower dependence on external supply or reticulated systems.
EPE works across the full water chain: assessing your current sources, storage, distribution, and usage, then identifying where infrastructure improvements will have the most practical impact. This might mean a new rainwater harvesting system, a storage pond upgrade, an irrigation redesign, or a water quality monitoring installation.
We work alongside local authorities and within New Zealand water regulation requirements. Our solutions are designed to be compliant, practical, and maintainable by farm staff.
This service includes
- Rainwater harvesting systems (tanks, pumps, first-flush devices)
- Water storage pond and dam assessment and design
- Irrigation system design and efficiency upgrades
- Water quality monitoring (pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, turbidity)
- Automated pump and valve control systems
- Council consent support and regulatory compliance

Solution 03
Farm Monitoring
Reliable, real-time data from across your operation — soil, weather, water, and infrastructure — so decisions are based on fact, not assumption.
Good farm management depends on good information. Too often, decisions about irrigation, grazing rotation, infrastructure maintenance, and resource use are made without reliable current data — because collecting that data has historically been difficult or expensive.
EPE installs and integrates monitoring systems that give you accurate, accessible data from across your operation. Sensors are selected for durability in agricultural environments: resistant to moisture, UV, livestock interference, and the general demands of outdoor farm infrastructure.
Data is transmitted wirelessly using cellular or LoRaWAN networks and made available through a simple dashboard you can check on your phone or desktop. Alerts can be configured for conditions that require immediate attention.
This service includes
- Soil moisture and temperature monitoring (multiple depth profiles)
- Automatic weather stations (rainfall, wind, temperature, humidity)
- Water level monitoring for tanks, troughs, and waterways
- Livestock trough fill and water quality monitoring
- Infrastructure condition monitoring (gates, fences, shed entry)
- Wireless data transmission and cloud dashboard setup
- Alert configuration and notification setup

Solution 04
Smart Farm Management
Connected systems that bring your energy, water, and monitoring data together — enabling better planning, task automation, and early detection of issues across the whole operation.
Individual monitoring and energy systems deliver real value on their own. But the greatest operational benefit comes when those systems are connected — when the data from your soil sensors, weather station, water levels, and energy generation is accessible in one place and can inform how the operation runs.
EPE designs integrated farm management platforms appropriate to the scale and complexity of your operation. These are not enterprise software deployments requiring specialists to maintain — they are practical, farm-appropriate systems that your team can understand and use without ongoing IT support.
For farms that want to go further, we can introduce automation: controlled irrigation based on soil moisture thresholds, automated pump switching based on tank levels, and scheduled operations managed by the system rather than by manual intervention.
This service includes
- Unified data dashboard connecting energy, water, and monitoring systems
- Automated irrigation control (soil moisture-triggered)
- Automated pump and valve scheduling
- Alert and notification management across all connected systems
- Remote access for farm owner and manager (mobile and desktop)
- Reporting and data export for planning and compliance
- System integration with existing farm management software
